General instructions for participants & events

The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the competition schedule and/or events due to unforeseen circumstances beyond their control.
💃 Stage Events – Dance & Music: OMR 8.000
🎨 Literary & Off-Stage Events: OMR 4.000
💰 OMR 18.000 per group event
The organizers shall not be responsible or liable for any unfortunate accidental injuries, mishaps involving participants or their associates, or damage to any items belonging to them during the competition.
🔹 In case of insufficient entries in any category, participants will be automatically considered for the next upper category.
🔹 Group Event points will not be considered for deciding Kalaprathibha and Kalathilakam.
🏆 Trophies, prizes and certificates for winners will be distributed at the Muscat Kalolsavam venue.
🏆 Trophies, prizes and certificates for Kalaprathibha and Kalathilakam in each category will also be distributed at the Muscat Kalolsavam venue.
👥 If more than 30 participants register in any category, participants will be divided into two categories based on age.
👨👩👧👦 In Group Events, the age of the oldest participant in the group will determine the age category under which the entire group will compete.
⚖️ The decision of the judges will be final and binding. Disputes regarding the results will be handled according to the applicable competition procedures.
📺 All events of Muscat Kalolsavam will be live-streamed.
⏱️ All participants must be present at the respective venue at least 30 minutes before the competition to collect their token/chest numbers.
⚠️ Delay in reporting may lead to disqualification.
📩📞 Venue details will be notified by the organizers by email and telephone 3 days in advance.
📧 Participants must provide their correct Email ID and telephone number in the registration form.
📌 Age as on 31.12.2026 will be considered for determining the age group.

📅 Date of Birth: 01.01.2008 to 31.12.2012
📅 Date of Birth: 31.12.2007 and earlier

📄 A photocopy of the relevant page(s) of the passport showing:
• Participant's Name
• Date of Birth
• Resident Visa Details
must be attached to the application.
📌 If required, the organizers may request the original document.
❌ Without the required documents, the entry form may be rejected.
🎯 A minimum of three (3) entries are required to conduct an event.
⬆️ If there are insufficient entries in an age group, the participant may be included in the next higher age group.
📌 Once an event has been finalized and scheduled, it will be conducted even if some participants are absent.
🏆 Prizes will be awarded based on the finalized number of participants.
🚫 Late entries and on-the-spot entries will not be entertained.
🎭 A participant may take part in:
Up to 7 Solo Events + any number of Group Events and Off-Stage Events.

will receive prizes and certificates.
🥇 First Prize + Certificate
🥈 Second Prize + Certificate
🥇 Only First Prize will be awarded.
🎼 Supporting artistes handling instruments will not be awarded prizes or certificates.

🤝 Joint winners will also receive the same points.
🚫 Performances or presentations must not offend or hurt the sentiments of any individual, community or nationality.
🇴🇲 All participants must obey the rules of Oman.
📌 Participants must strictly adhere to all rules and instructions. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
⚖️ The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
📝 In case of an objection, it should be submitted in writing to the Jury of Appeal within one hour of the announcement of the result.
👨⚖️ Qualified judges from India, specialized in their respective fields, will evaluate the competitions.
📋 All competitions are governed by the guidelines set by Muscat Kalolsavam. Decisions regarding the results of individual events will be made by the respective judges.
🌟 A participant will be eligible for the Kalathilakam / Kalaprathibha title only if:
✅ He/She participates in a minimum of four solo events, including off-stage events, within his/her respective category.
✅ He/She secures sufficient points according to the competition point system.
⚠️ Group Event points will not be considered for these titles.
🎥 All events of Muscat Kalolsavam 2026 will be live-streamed.
By participating, participants acknowledge that their performances may be recorded and broadcast as part of the event.

Participants must follow the specific time limits, performance rules, costume requirements, music requirements and judging criteria prescribed for their respective events.
Off-Stage Events include:

📖 Story Writing
✍️ Poem Writing
📝 Essay Writing
🌿 Mehndi Design
📚 Other literary and creative competitions as announced by the organizers.
Participants must follow the specific materials, time limits, themes and judging criteria applicable to each event.
🎶 Participants must use the permitted type of music/material specified for their event.
👗 Costumes should be appropriate to the nature and cultural requirements of the event.
🚫 Vulgar, obscene, offensive, communal or inappropriate content is prohibited.
🚫 Dangerous props or materials are not permitted.
⚠️ Any form of misconduct or indiscipline may lead to disqualification.
